About The Instructor

Jane began teaching dog obedience classes in 1991. In 1992, she joined with two other trainers to teach obedience classes for the Anderson County Humane Society. Jane also taught the dog obedience program for the Tri County Technical College in Pendleton, from 1994 to 2000. Although her primary breed is the West Highland White Terrier, she also shares her life with a Shetland Sheepdog, Bernese Mountain Dog and is a cat lover with her multiple felines residing peacefully with her canine companions. Jane was privileged to live and work with a retired greyhound for 12 years. Jane and her dogs have been active in conformation, obedience, agility, earth dog events, lure coursing, tracking and pet therapy programs. Jane is a long time member of the West Highland White Terrier Club of Atlanta, America and England and The Association of Pet Dog Trainers. She is an active participant in the Atlanta Westie Rescue program, providing rehabilitation and fosters Westies coming through the program. Since 1999 she has written a well known training and advice column called “Westie Wisdom”, which has led to her teaching Westie training seminars around the country.
